The Acer PB71305 is an old laptop and Acer has stopped all support for this laptop. You will have to open the laptop up and in most of these old model laptops as the RTC/BIOS battery is usually on the other side of the mainboard to where you have opened the back cover off, so for you to reset and or change the RTC/BIOS battery you will need to take the mainboard completely out of the laptop, as the RTC/BIOS battery is not readily accessible, so its a big job.

But if the bios has a password, then we can't give you any instructions and/or guides on how to overwrite that password as on this forum all password hacking guides are prohibited. Good luck and hope this helps you out some.

If the former owners family wants to recover any old data from the HDD, then I suggest that you either consult the HDD manufacturers for a guide or the best is to take and/or consult a Data Recovery Technician and get the drive unlocked that way. Also, be prepared as any Data Recovery place will not just hack the password insecurely, as and if a HDD is password locked, they will want and will ask you for appropriate security identification for the ownership of the laptop, so make sure that you have the appropriate information and documents.

Note: Acer community does not allow any guides on password hacking of a HDD, OS or any security aspects of a PC.
