I cannot find a mic on my laptop anymore! uninstalled and reinstalled drivers for in and outputs. Cannot find a troubleshooter to find the mic. Everything tells me to select the mic from options under input but there ARE NO options listed.

I've been searching online forums for an answer and none have worked. I have an Acer laptop running windows 11. I had a microphone at one point, it's built into the computer. Now there is no microphone detected.

I've run every single troubleshooter I can find. I've followed advice after advice from other communities and this one but still no microphone detected.

The last thing I tried was deleting in and outputs and restarting hoping it would automatically reinstall my microphone but nope. (See below still no microphone under inputs and outputs).

What can I do now? Side note: My boyfriend does music recording etc and uses an external mic and plenty of other equipment. I'm sure it probably got messed up with his work at some point, but how do I get it back?

You forgot to include the full laptop model that you have, is it perhaps the Aspire3 315-23?

Aspire 5 is what it says on the back of the laptop and under 'about' is what I put in the original post…

Do you have any idea why I can no longer find my mic anywhere? It's as if the pc wasn't preinstalled with it>

In Windows type System info in the Search bar and look at the header under System model: that is your full Aspire 5 Model number, without knowing the exact model we can't do much, don't use that N19C3 code as that is the Aspire series. The microphone is integrated in the Aspire 5 laptops and are controlled by Intel and Microsoft, no driver involved. Open Device manager and uninstall any drivers you installed, if you see any yellow exclamation marks and Unkown or Other devices uninstall those too and just reboot. Type @Puraw in your reply or click on "Quote" so I get an alert.
