Is poor performance for microSD Card slot expected for SFG14-72?

Using CrystalDiskMark, I am seeing only 29MB/s read when using the microSD card slot. Same SD card in other devices or using a USB adapter results in 95MB/s read.

I tried re-installing the available Realtek card reader drivers available from Acer's website but that didn't change the performance.

Is slow performance expected?

The card reader sits on a USB 2.0 port and shares it with the WLAN card, so that is likely close to correct.
