Keyboard backlight not working after Windows 10 update on my Acer Swift 3X SF314-510G

The keyboard backlight stopped working on my Acer Swift 3X SF314-510G after Windows 10 did an automatic update and installed KB5041019 and KB5040427.

The backlight no longer comes on and cannot be enabled using the backlight-key (FN+F8 on my keyboard). I went into the bios to check if there was some settings there, and I disabled the backlight timeout. When I selected save and restart, the backlight blinked once before windows booted, so I believe the actual lighting works.

How do I get my backlight working again?

I managed to find the "Uninstall updates" in Windows update and uninstalled KB5040427. The keyboard backlight now works. Funny thing is that Windows still shows KB5040427 as installed…

I have also paused Windows update for as long as possible (35 days). Not a long-term solution, but at least my keyboard backlight works for now.
