Acer Nitro 17 issue on black screen dead and doesn't respond to anything

I've had this laptop (Acer Nitro 17) for about a year. It was working fine earlier today. I came back about an hour ago. It's got a black screen. The little amber light in upper left is still on, but no other lights. I can't hear anything. It doesn't respond to anything. No amount of button pressing does anything. I unplugged it, but no change. It normally stays plugged in, so the full battery is keeping the amber light going, but nothing else. Any help?

Please try a simple power reset to check the auto shutdown issue. Shutdown the laptop. Disconnect the charger. Please check for a battery reset PIN hole at the bottom of the device. The reset hole would have a battery symbol next to it. Insert a paperclip into the hole and press for four seconds. Let the computer sit for 5 minutes with no power. Reconnect the charger and power On the laptop. It should work fine.

I'm not seeing the pin hole you mentioned anywhere, nor a battery symbol (except the symbol next to the battery recharge light on the side). Are you sure it has one? If so, I'll need a little help finding it.

Same laptop, same problem just this morning. I also cannot see a pin hole.

Hopefully you have fixed your issue by now, but just in case and for anyone else- what ended up working for me after diving into different forums, was just to unplug everything from the laptop and then hold the power button for about a minute. Eventually the logo flashed and the red light went off. I let it sit for a few more minutes before before plugging it back in and pressing the power button as normal. It turned right on.
