When I open the camera on my Laptop it shows Error code: 0xA00F4244<NoCamerasAreAttached>

I also tried finding a camera driver on the website and couldn't find it I also tried almost every method present online to make it work but no help. I am attaching screenshots from my devices; there is no camera tab here and my software is up to date also.

Can anyone please help me out here?

Webcam comes integrated with the laptop and is managed by Microsoft (no drivers available), If you upgraded or installed W11, this laptop (from 2017) may have Windows10 components that are not readily detected by Windows11, if you are still on Windows10 you may have a hardware issue. If you are running W11, update to the latest version W11 23H2 22631.3672 as that may have a fix for this issue.

I had the same issue, window 11 version 2024-06 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 23H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5039212).

The root cause of the camera error 0xA00F4244 is often linked to issues with the camera driver. If this driver is outdated or corrupted, it might not effectively communicate with the hardware, leading to this error.

Resolving this issue can often be as straightforward as updating the camera driver. Windows frequently has updates from manufacturers available within its system. By executing a Windows Update, you can ensure that your camera driver is current. If the troubleshooter is unable to rectify the problem, it’s likely because the driver update wasn’t available in Windows. In such cases, you have a couple of options below:-

    1. Switch the Driver to UVC Driver:-

Right-click on the Start button and select Device Manager.

    Expand the Cameras section.

Double-click on your camera and select the Driver tab.

    Click on Update driver.

Select Browse my computer for drivers.

Select Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer.

Select USB Video Device and then select Next to complete the driver update.

Select Close to acknowledge settings choices and go back to Device Manager. The webcam will now appear under the Cameras category in the Device Manager list.

    1. Download and Install New driver from Manufacturer's Website:-

Right-click on the Start button and select Device Manager.

    Expand the Cameras section.

Double-click on your camera and select the Driver tab.

Note down the camera name and the manufacturer.

Go to your search engine and type “[manufacturer] [camera name] driver”.

Locate the manufacturer’s website and download and install the latest driver.

Restart your PC once the installation is complete. Hope this helps!

Thanks, but there is no camera detected in device manager. can't follow rest of the steps given. after some time i perform windows update, that seems to solve the issue. however after another windows update, it was back to square one. 😓😂
