CPU Incompatibility Issue (Acer Nitro N50-640)

Hello Everyone. I recently purchased aan Acer Nitro N50-640. I purchased an i7 14700f after researching the chipset on the motherboard and compatible processors on Intel's website. I updates the two microcode updates for the BIOS from Acer and get a single continuous beep on startup. The original CPU, an i5 12400f boots without issue, leading me to conclude that the motherboard (B66H6-AD) is not compatible with 14 generation processors.

Has anyone successfully upgraded thier 12th generation CPU to a 13th generation variant? I am alright buying a an i7 12700f. I am checking the group knowledge before proceeding forward. Thank you for your time and patience.

Considering the latest bios on that is 6 months before 14th gen came out I'd guess that it doesn't have the required bios magic to be compatible. Being an OEM board prob be best to call ACER and ask. But yes, the socket should be compatible and stuff that comes with 12th gen would highly likely need bios update for 14th. Also, the possibility of a bad chip though. You buy it online/at a store or know for sure it was working on another setup? My bet would be lack of bios magic though cause six months before launch seems like they don't have the required bios revisions to support it. OEMs get a head start on this stuff but wouldn't have a good functional stable bios for a new CPU six months before the CPU launches.
