Can I replace the removable 8GB RAM with a HyperX 16GB RAM module in my laptop, which already has 8GB soldered, making a total of 24GB?

You can upgrade maximum to 20 GB. SO the total you can go up to 20 GB.

Yes, you can replace the stock 8GB stick with the 16GB stick but I recommend you choose another non-XMP RAM stick instead of the Kingston HyperX.

@AnhEZ28 does it still boot using xmp ram?

The laptop still boots with the XMP RAM, but the bus frequency will sometimes be reduced or cause instability.

You can wait 2 minutes to ensure the system recognizes the new RAM installed. If it still does not boot up, the HyperX RAM is incompatible with the laptop.
