HI @PeterxM it may be a problem with your security application or the DNS you use, I recommend first clearing your browser's temps and cache and trying again.
I would also check which DNS your internet provider is applying and try other DNS, for example Google's:

    All the best.

Make sure your firewall isn't blocking Chrome or any other browser. If you've done any work on your firewall, it's always a good idea to make sure the new settings don't block Chrome. Reset Chrome to default. It's always possible something was corrupted, or the combination of settings caused a problem. Chromebook stores temporary files, images, and other data in its cache to help speed up page loading times. However, if this data becomes corrupted or outdated, it can cause issues with the browser's performance and lead to crashes. Overloading your Chromebook with endless software programs can cause it to freeze and crash. Many apps also run in the background, so even if you don't have them directly open, they may still be using your Chromebook's processing power.

    Thanks

    I have done the following.

Powerwash the Chromebook. Connect to wifi. Select guest mode, so the Chromebook has none of my details or settings. Try accessing the delinquent webpages. Same problem.

So, 2 different Chromebooks have same problem. Is it the wifi ? Plenty fast enogh for all other sites and playing HD tv. I will try a different network over the weekend.

    Regards

I tried a completely different network and wifi network. No difference to Acer Chromebook problem.

    So, the problem remains unresolved.
