Helios PH16-71why did you mess with Predator sense even more? New 2024 predatorSense update RGB Fail

I have a Predator Helios 16 PH16-71, the Core i7 13th gen RTX 4060, I bought it December 2023, and since I've had it, it has worked fine, except for the RGB and Predator Sense app.

First, Predator sense used to get unhooked from the system and wouldn't control it… that was usually fixed with a restart, but sometimes I had to uninstall and reinstall the app… this was several times…

Then, for some reason the service which controls RGB from the Predator Sense app used to stop byt it self, so in order to regain control of the RGB you had to go to services, find it, and manually restart it… just to gain enough time to make changes and it stopped again.

Lately, it seemed like the app was working better (As one would expect), but about 2 days ago, Predator Sense had a major update, with a lot of "cool" features… them problem I've found so far is this:

The app wouldn't recognize the PCs mode… a restart seemed to fix it, then I noticed my RGB wasn't working… so I went to Pulsar Lighting option and there was a message the read something like "RGB is now controlled from Windows Dynamic Lighting, and an option to disable it"

So I went to Windows settings, and the only device I could control with Windows was my mouse…

so I went back to the app, and clicked on the option to control from predator sense… It didn't work, so I restarted the computer, went back to the app, and the option to control globally is unresponsive… RGB is off and clicking on the different option does nothing, it doesn't even selects it, it's just stuck on Wave, but not really working. Not even clicking the "Reset lighting effect setting" button.

Then I went to Area option, and I was able to make my keyboard light up and control the effects, also the light bar… but for some reason, the light on my keyboard stops working once I'm out of the Pulsar Lighting section, and It wont light up when I press the keys, like before… the light bar is working… but It wont turn off after 30' seconds as it's supposed to work…

Sorry, but Predator Sense has been just awful, and I thought they would fix this with time… but it seems now this is even more broken, not being able to light my keys at night it's just something no one should be having to deal with for the amount of money this product is worth.

If anyone has an answer for this, I would be very grateful.

yea.. i also having the same issues after the updates of predator sense ver5.0.1341. Now unable to control and change my keyboard light now. The "pulsar lightning" is removed from the scenario profile….🤔

Same here. I got the PH16-71-94S6 NH.QJSAA.003 with Windows 11 Home 23H2 version, OS build 22631.3527 with Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22700.1003.0. It used to work somehow ok. I got static lighting. It was starting up with the rain effect and at the Win Log on screen the keyboard usually was changing to my lighting setup. If not it was starting up windows and in a few seconds I got my set up of lights. The lights were going off after 30'' and as long you were hitting a key they were back on. Now it seems that we are facing with this bizarre behavior that it was described above. I also have a Logitech mouse G403 controlled by MS Dynamic Lighting. But now I have to restart everything from scratch every time I run my laptop. I have to go to Predator Sense disable MS dynamic lighting turn on the lights in the keyboard go to MS dynamic lighting turn it on for the mouse and leave it like that otherwise either the mouse or the keyboard will loose their light. Plus I have to disable the 30'' turn off option cause it makes the keys to turn off for good. They are not lighting up. Why is this happening ????

ok it works . For me at least. Predator sense 5.0.1341. I found out there were 2 installation. The previous and the current. Uninstall everything. Cleaned up registry. Went to Acer downloaded Predator Sense 5.0.1341. Unzipped. Run as Admin. Installed. Works. Even the 30'' kill off switch. Works just fine. You just have to do a clean install

I have a Predator Helios neo 16 PHN16-71,the Core i5 13th gen RTX 4050 and since I've had it, it has worked fine. But after latest Predator sense update the Global RGB setting is not working. I am have tried many measures but none of them work. Please can someone provide a detailed solution if there is one!

it works, just uninstall both predator sense and predator sense config from control panel. Use CCleaner to clean registry. Then restart and install version 5.0.1341. WORKS FINE WITH PH16-71

Press Windows + S, type Services, and open the app.

Locate Acer Lighting Service, right-click, and select Properties.

Set Startup type to Automatic and click Start if the service is stopped.

Under the Recovery tab, set all failure actions to "Restart the Service"

I've got the same exact PHN16-71 laptop i5-13500HX / RTX4050 / upgraded to 64GB @ 2x 32GB DDR5-4800MT/s CL40 type Crucial ram and 1TB Samsung 990 Pro NVMe + Heatsink M.2 SSD boot drive and its always worked for me and this is after a clean install of windows 11 24H2 and all its updates. I'm using the PS version 5.0.1341, so try to uninstall the current PS and reinstall it again, make sure you have the bios version 1.18 installed too. Good luck and hope this assists you further.
