How to get the monitor KB2 Series/KB272E to display the actual resolution to 1080p

I recently bought a KB2 Series/KB272E Acer monitor what states its native resolution to be 1920*1080. I am using a VGA cable for the output. I clearly have about half a centimeter of space that is not displayed on my screen, but is registered there. I have updated my drivers, and installed the recommended windows ones, but it hasn't fixed the issue at all. The first imaged attached is what the full display should look like, and the second is the view that I actually get.

Just a small update, and using NVIDIA control panel it seems that the actual resolution of the monitor is 1880*1080. Could this be a production error, or is it a purely software issue?

Something is using an overscan mode… Check to see nothing is setup optimized for movies.
