I have bought a new Aspire 5 replete with the latest HDMI 2.1. but the 2.1 audio is clobbered to a max 48K sample rate. My old 2007 Vista system can output 192K sample rate PCM streams. 48K was the standard 30 yrs ago. Is there a solution or have Acer just used the cheapest audio driver system….& I have made a big mistake ?

What is the full laptop model like Aspire 5 A515-58M, the maximum audio sample rate in Windows11 23H2 is 24 bit, 48000Hz, check that this is also set in Realtek Audio Console.

These low to medium-range laptops with basic RTK ALC255 chipsets or similar are not meant to be top Wi-Fi audio devices, most audiophiles use high quality external speakers with amplifiers or a headset either BT or connected to the audio port with a 3.5mm plug.
