Hi,

My chromebook Spin 713-3W has suddenly stopped powering on.

When the charger is plugged in, the power button has a blue light showing.

I've tried a few things I've come across online:

Holding down refresh and the power button for at least 1 minute.

Holding down refresh and the power button and removing the charge lead.

Disconnecting the battery for a period of time and then trying to start.

None of these have worked so far.

Does anyone have any thoughts on what the issue could be?

Thanks

Steve

Remove all external cables, dongles etc except for charger. Can you hear the fan turn on & off when you short press the power button a few times?

If you plug an external monitor in, do you get a display there when you try to turn it on?

    Thanks for the two responses.

I've tried connecting to an external monitor and there was no display there either.

If I press the power button a few times I cannot hear the fan turning on.

What happens if you tilt the machine vertically?

You might unplug the battery from the board and let it sit overnight that way. Then plug it in and charge it up. I've had to do that before.
Once you have done that, with it plugged back in and fully charged, open the lid and just wait. Sometimes they will power on from the lid being opened with no power button press needed.

    Hi Axxo,

I'll give that a try over the weekend. Thanks
