I recently ordered an Aspire TC-1770 and they told me they were out of stock and would I accept an Aspire TC-1780? I can't seem to pinpoint the difference.

Here's the full Acer description for the TC-1770-ur11 (2023 model part# DT.BKBAA.001) vs the TC-1780-UA92. (2024 model part# DT.BK9AA.003). Virtually the same. Prices are original MSRP so don't mean much.

Depends on the sub-model the dealer is hawking. Here's one retailer's comparison between the UR12 submodels. Many configurations are possible depending on sub-model designation.

I'm pretty sure the dealer is not going to substitute an i7 for an i5 at no extra charge but I hope so.

The TC-1770 I ordered had a Gen13 i5 with 16GB-DDR4 and the dealer said he was substituting the TC-1780 with the same memory. Each other specification I saw was a match, Ethernet, SSD, Video, etc.

As far as what he described, I cannot tell the difference between the 1770 and 1780, hence my question here.

The dealer said the following (with 16GB memory instead of 8GB):

"Unfortunately, we are currently oversold on the Acer Aspire TC TC-1770-UR11 Black Desktop/i5-13400/8GB DDR4/512GB PCIe SSD/Intel UHD 730/Windows 11 Home

In replacement we offer the Acer Aspire TC-1780-UA92 Desktop/i5-13400/8GB DDR4/512GB PCIe SSD/Intel UHD 730/Windows 11 Home

    Same Price, Same specifications"

So the difference I can see is the 1770 vs 1780 and 1770-UR11 vs 1780-UA92.

Perhaps I should be asking the difference between UR11 and UA92?

I don't think the dealer is going to substitute an i7 for an i5, but I hope he does.

Here's what he said (except they both would have 16GB memory):

"Unfortunately, we are currently oversold on the Acer Aspire TC TC-1770-UR11 Black Desktop/i5-13400/8GB DDR4/512GB PCIe SSD/Intel UHD 730/Windows 11 Home

In replacement we offer the Acer Aspire TC-1780-UA92 Desktop/i5-13400/8GB DDR4/512GB PCIe SSD/Intel UHD 730/Windows 11 Home

    Same Price, Same specifications"

So, perhaps my question should be, what's the difference between a 1770-UR11 and a 1780-UA92 ?

    Thanks Jack E/NJ -

Sure looks like they're close to identical.

Same mainboard too (part# DB.BK611.001). Essentially a new production run. Good luck if you get it.
