Missing Chip R22 (or similar) in Laptop: Should I Be Concerned?

Hello everyone,

I recently opened up my laptop to apply thermal paste and noticed something unusual. There are supposed to be three chips labeled R22 PLV4 (or similar) on the motherboard, but today I only found two chips with one slot empty. I'm not sure if this is normal or if there's a potential issue.

The reason I'm concerned is that I recently had my laptop serviced, and I'm worried that a component might have been removed during the process. I'd like to know if anyone else has experienced a similar situation with their Acer laptop or if this is something I should be worried about.

Additionally, I'm curious about how my laptop is still functioning despite the missing chip. Could this potentially cause harm in the long run?

Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

That chip location is for a different dedicated GPU model.

I am glad your computer is working fine .

If your laptop is in warranty you can contact the warranty dept.     Go to the website support.acer.com - chose your country.   On the new page - scroll down -  click on "contact support".  Scroll down.  You can find the phone no to contact the warranty dept.
