I just bought (two days ago) an Acer B287K L monitor (28-inch, 4K resolution) because of the advertised 100-million-to-one dynamic contrast ratio. However, whether I have HDR turned on or off, and whether I have ACM turned on or off, there seems to be nothing dynamic about the contrast ratio, and instead I am getting the typical IPS panel contrast ratio of 1000:1. Has anyone else with this monitor experienced this same problem? I know it's not the computer, because the exact same computer (Windows 10) was previously connected to a ViewSonic panel that would dim or boost the backlight of the LCD panel based on how dark or bright the image being shown is. That monitor would even turn the backlight completely off when displaying a black image. I installed the appropriate drivers for the Acer monitor, based on its serial number. Attached are images of the Acer monitor showing a black image in a completely dark room (with the laptop screen below it for comparison), and the settings that I believe should enable dynamic contrast ratio: ACM, or Adaptive Contrast Management. Thanks in advance for any feedback or suggestions!
