I bought an Aspire 5 - A515-56 November 2023 from Amazon. The DC connection is not working so I can't even turn the computer on anymore. It started flashing on and off (as being connected) for a couple of seconds at a time and finally stopped all together. The battery had some juice but I noticed it started draining real fast. So, I connected a USB and backed up all I could before the computer died completely. Can you please let me know how this can be fixed and why did it do that, after all, the computer is only 4 months old. This is my first Acer, I've always owned HPs.

As the laptop is still under warranty, I recommend not opening the back cover to disconnect the battery but use the small reset pinhole at the back with a battery symbol. disconnect all USB devices and the power adapter and carefully stick a pin in that hole at the back of the laptop till you feel it click (microswitch) keep pressing down for 5 seconds, that will reset the battery, remove the pin and connect the power adapter, make sure the power cord is properly inserted in the electrical wall socket and adapter and the DC barrel pin is fully inserted in the DC port till you feel a click. If you still don't see the amber battery charging LED turn on or after 1 hour the LED won't turn blue, either the adapter is bad, or you need to do a power drain/CMOS reset. In that case I recommend bringing the laptop to Acer Services in your country, include the adapter.
