My External Mic Not Working on Acer Aspire 3 Model: Aspire A314-35

Laptop Model: Aspire A314-35

So I recently installed Windows 10 after my SSD got corrupted.

Before that happened, my laptop has 1 jack only & I use a splitter to use my earphone & microphone at the same time.

Now after plugging the splitter again, My earphone works fine, but my external mic isn't being detected, and my laptop instead pick up the sound from the built-in internal (which is not great of course).

I mostly feel like this is a driver issue, but even after updating my windows, the problem is still there, and I'm kinda confuse about which driver I should installed from the acer website…

Can someone help me? I'd really appreciate it and I'll give u additional information if needed, thankyou 🙏

Go to the Realtek Audio Console, Device Advanced settings, and switch analog to Headset.

It sounds like you're experiencing an issue with your external microphone not being detected after reinstalling Windows 10 on your Acer Aspire A314-35 laptop.

    Firstly, try these steps:

    1. Check the splitter: Ensure that the splitter you're using is functioning properly. Try using another splitter or directly plugging in your external microphone to see if it works.
    2. Check microphone settings: Right-click on the speaker icon in your system tray, select "Sounds," then navigate to the "Recording" tab. Make sure your external microphone is set as the default recording device.
    3. Update drivers: Visit the Acer website and download the latest audio drivers for your laptop model. Install them and see if it resolves the issue. Sometimes, Windows Update might not provide the latest drivers, so manual installation is necessary.
    4. Check for hardware issues: If none of the above steps work, there could be a hardware problem with your external microphone or the audio jack on your laptop. Try using the microphone on another device to confirm if it's working properly.
