I bought a set of 16gb ddr4 2666mhz PC4-21300 SODIMM 260-pin ram sticks to throw into my Nitro AN515-53, and it is only recognizing one stick, saying there's only 15.8gb available. what gives?

Specs attached.

    I don't know what type or manufacturer ram you bought but DDR4-2666MHz is compatible with the AN515-53 laptop. It could be that you didn't put one ram module properly into its slot and its not making full contact, so check that or you are using the wrong CL ram which is not compatible with this laptop'. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

    Here is a list of all the compatible ram and tested ram that Acer tested on this laptop, so use these ram modules:

    What I got was made my Crucial, which they listed for my model on their website. Weird how they aren't listed here…

    @IggyRock

    I understand you " bought a set of 16gb ddr4 2666mhz PC4-21300 SODIMM 260-pin ram sticks "

    Try to swap the rams and check. May be one of the rams was not inserted properly.

    Try to boot with 1 ram on the first slot and check..

    Try to boot with 1 ram on the second slot and check.

    Try to boot with 2 memory sticks and check ..

    Swap the memory sticks on the both the slots and try to boot and check.

    Turn off the computer while swapping the rams.
