    First thing - check your antivirus and firewall aren't blocking steam. Make exceptions in the antivirus software anyway, to be sure. Also check your router to make sure that the required ports are open for
    steam to work. These days this should be automatic with UPnP etc, but best to check.

    Firewalls and anti-virus and malware security programs are completely different things. They're not all "firewalls", assuming you're calling them all that, in general, because you're not aware of the difference.
    Nobody knows everything.

    If your laptop's operating system is Windows you have:
    · Windows Defender Firewall - decides whether to block or allow incoming internet traffic
    · Windows Virus and Threat Protection - Virus protection (automatically
    disabled if a 3rd party anti-virus program is installed and running)
    · Whatever 3rd party anti-virus is installed - Virus protection.

    I don't think it's the firewall because my other games download and work fine it's just far cry 2🤔

    @Bigblest6

    This game might have some problems with recognizing newer hardware. Check out this site for fixing the recognition issue: https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Far_Cry_2#google_vignette
