Hi, I have no knowledge about computers and have recently reset my Acer Aspire A315-53-50K5. However, it never gets past preparing and keeps showing up with this error message, multiple times after pressing OK.

Text written below image if unclear.

The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed. To install Windows, click “OK” to restart the computer, then restart the installation.

I managed to get past it.

Method being shift + fn + f10 >typing regedit + enter > dropdown hkey local machine > dropdown setup > dropdown status > child completion > setup.exe > change the current value in value data to 3 > ok > click ok on the error

The "Reset this PC" or Refresh option in Windows10 failed. You need to stop the Repair Loop and try to Reset Windows again. First boot to BIOS with F2 and press F9 (reset), save settings and reboot. If that did not help reboot and right after you see the Acer logo press Alt+F10 that starts the Troubleshoot menu where you can select Reset this PC (either with or without losing your files, try both options). Changes are that nothing helps and bringing the laptop to Acer Services in your country to reset the system to factory defaults is the best option (for a small service fee).
