Hi,

out of the blue my touch screen on my Acer no longer works. Any suggestions to remedy this?

Open Device Manager. Expand HumanInterfaceDevice folder if not already expanded. Right click to enable HID-compliant touchscreen.

Thanks for repying @JackE. So get this, it all of a sudden works again. and I didn't do anything. Worked again out of the blue yesterday. And I checked HID previously AND the touchscreen option wasn't there. Out of curiosity I checked now and guess what… it's there. I'm not dreaming. It wasn't there before. Touch pad was touch screen was not. Now it is. It appears below touch pad. I don't get it. how would it just disappear and then reappear with zero intervention from myself? OH well. Glad it's back and working again

If this happened in the last few days, search start menu 'restore point'. Click 'create a restore point' near the top of the menu. If System Protection is turned on, click System Restore button. Click next. Do you see an auto restore point with a date stamp about when this weirdness started?

Thanks Jack. Its working now so I don't want to restore back to when it wasn't working. but if it happens again I'll do the restore point trick. This is so weird. I wonder if there was an update that disabled it and then it reenabled itself? makes no sense.

Yes, a possibility. Quickly check the restore point app if it happens again.
