I have a Nitro AN515-58 NH.QFMEP.00A. I downloaded the drivers from the acer website, but they are not installed.

The device manager still shows a PS/2 compatible mouse with a driver from Microsoft dated June 21, 2006.

Uninstall the 12C HID driver in Human Interface Devices and Touchpad drivers if you see that too in Device manager. Just boot and Windows will install the MS Precision drivers for your touchpad. If issues boot to BIOS with F2 and change the Touchpad setting from PS/2 to 12C HID and save settings on exit. Leave the PS/2 mouse driver as that is not related to your touchpad settings.
