Hello Acer, I am currently using the Aspire 5 laptop but I am unable to use Windows Hello to sign in. I received an error message stating that the option is not available and that Windows Hello couldn't find a compatible camera. Can you please help me resolve this issue?

    Can you specify the Aspire 5 model? (A515-XX). Some of the new Aspire 5 models have the fingerprint built on the corner of the touchpad but there is no Windows Hello camera supported.

    Method 2: Scan Your System Files for Errors
    If the Windows Hello system files are damaged, it will cause the error “We couldn't find a camera compatible with Windows Hello Face”. So, the second method is to scan and fix your system files for errors. You can do that using the SFC (System File Checker) tool.

    The error message means that your laptop has a normal webcam.

    Windows Hello Face requires an infrared camera, which you don't have.

    Fingerprint sensors also uses the Windows Hello protocol and that works with Aspire 5 laptops. Windows Hello Facial recognition requires a special HD IR-3D camera, only a few high-end laptops have such an internal camera, not Aspire 5. If you want to use facial recogntion in Windows Hello you need to get a compatible external USB camera: https://www.pcworld.com/article/394379/windows-hello-webcams-you-can-buy-right-now.html

    @Chillibab

    You will need to check the laptop physically by looking at the touchpad to see if there is a fingerprint sensor.
