Is it possible to enable the "MUX switch" function on my laptop (Acer Nitro 5 AN515-57). Or disable the Nvidia Optimus function, although most likely the essence of these functions is the same. I only want the discrete video card to work. I know about the option to connect a second monitor, but isn't there some way to do this without connecting third-party displays?

Press WIN+R. Enter 'msinfo32'. What is the Insyde BIOS firmware version number in the right pane?

I recently updated my BIOS to version 1.20 from the official website.

    So version 1.20

Any hidden BIOS user accessible options would be revealed by pressing Ctrl+S in any of the BIOS menuitems. If nothing relevant is found, then only the latest nvidia experience or VGA utility or Acer NitroSense or QuickAccess might provide the option from the same link from which you downloaded the BIOS firmware

I would of course like to use only the strength of my discrete video card, but I don't want to completely abandon the integrated one when I really need it. I thought there was a "MUX switch" function, but, so far, there is not. Hopefully in the next updates they will add such a function so that it could be done without entering the BIOS.

Thank you for the great answers, you really helped me!

Except maybe for a few high end Predator series, I don't recall seeing many if any laptop MUX switch options. A few folks might've tried temporarily disabling the integrated display adapter in Device Manager to try to force the discrete adapter to take over.
