The laptop detects the headset as just headphones. I have Acer Nitro AN515-54 laptop

Hi,

my ACER Nitro AN515-54 laptop detects the Steelseries Arctis 1 headset through the jack input as headphones and not as a set, so I cannot use the microphone. In the sound settings, I can only choose the built-in microphone from the laptop. The headset works - it was tested on another laptop. My system is updated to Windows 11 and all drivers are up to date.

Probably the jack, certain jacks have issues with the audio ports (Microsoft/Acer), try another headset or use an USB adapter.

When you plugged them in the very first time, the system should have asked you what type of device it was. If you give the wrong answer there, it will continue to treat it the wrong way until you change that setting. Use the Realtek Audio Console and remove the headphones setting so when you next plug it in it will ask again, where you can tell it headset instead.
