I have an Acer Aspire 3, model A315-42-R1B0, since July 2020 and it stopped charging yesterday after I restarted it. I checked the wall outlet and the notebook charger with a multimeter, and both are working as expected. After opening the notebook, I checked (also with the multimeter) that the charging connector is properly working as well. I also did a visual inspection of the battery and it seems fine: is not hot, has no signs of damage, is not inflated and is delivering 7,65V (rated voltage output is 7,7V, but I guess the difference could be an error of the cheap multimeter). The battery still has some charge, so I also turned on the computer and ran it through some suggested trouble shooting: ac adapter device driver update, reset power configurations for standard, run power trouble shooting. Nothing worked. I also clicked and held the battery reset button underneath the notebook for 30 seconds and it didn't help. A very curious thing though is that whenever I plug or unplug the charger in the computer, my USB wired mouse gets disconnected and reconnected, doing the classic USB connected and disconnected sounds of windows. So the notebook is still somehow aware of the charger, but won't accept it's power. Does someone have any idea of what could be causing this? Any help is appreciated!
