When I try to use a new Gaming Headset and set it to Headset, the sound is very weird and out of phase. Like all of the stereo sound is down to Mono and lots of the sound disappears. Like everything is in Mono and sounds like effects and not a direct sound. Drivers are updated and so is the system. I've tried two different pairs of gaming headsets and they both sound the same, totally off. The headsets work in another Acer laptop but not this one. I am using an Acer Aspire 515

What headphones are you talking about, give us the models as you need to calibrate the new headphones to the mystery Aspire 515-xx-xxx laptops OS, as it would be nice to know the exact model😁 as there are thousands of Aspire 515 models and headphones. If its Win-11 right click on the task bar speaker icon and go into Sound settings > Output and calibrate the headphones to your laptop, its a simple process or you might need your new headphones drivers if it has any, so check that also. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

Your a515-54g comes with true harmony, toggle it on and off.

If you are using windows 11, then you may also have to look at acer purified voice and turn off AI noise cancellation.
