Acer Swift X 16 laptop overheating issue shutting down for no apparent reason

I have an Acer Swift X 16 laptop which I purchased in April 2023 and have repeated problems with it overheating and shutting down for no apparent reason. I always use it on a wooden dining table in a non-dusty environment. I use it mainly for processing and editing photographs using Adobe Cloud products. The times it has overheated I have not been processing images but the laptop has simply been in sleep mode. When it overheats it gets very hot and switches itself off and then takes a long time to cool down before I can restart it. I purchased it through Currys PC World UK and it is currently with their engineers for the second time in 2 months for the same issue. Could you shed any light on what the issue might be and can I expect to have the laptop replaced given it is still under warranty.

The Swift X laptops are imo over speced for the Thermal/Cooling system that Acer provides for these laptop, hence and why they overheat (which is not unusual as Acer have done this in the past with many laptops, like an old Aspire laptop that I've got the V3-571G, so be aware of this.

I've got a Swift X SFX14-51G with the i7-1260P/ RTX3050Ti gpu / 16GB LPDDR5 ram / Gen 4 x4 lanes drive and this laptops M.2 and heatsink gets really hot. What I did is I changed the paste to Liquid Metal paste (be careful as this is a specialist paste that needs to be applied 100% correctly) otherwise you will cause permeant damage to your mainboard, as this liquid metal paste does help reduce temps about 10C-15C.

Also, I bought the Thermal Grizzly MINUS PAD 8 size 100x100x1,5mm and stuck this thermal pad on top of the M.2 drives, which also helps, as Acer do this with most of the new Predator and Nitro gaming laptops, see the Predator r PHN16-71 M.2 thermal wrap used by acer below and see if you can purchase this wrap, as I can't see it online as yet. That is all that you can do or under volt the cpu to reduce some cpu temps. Good luck and hope this helps you out some more.
