I've seen conflicting information about this so, before I buy one, perhaps someone from Acer who actually knows the correct answer might provide information.

I -think- this model has 8GB soldered to the motherboard and one RAM slot containing an 8GB DIMM. If that is correct, then the followup question is whether the 8GB DIMM may be replaced with a 32GB module and, if so, will the 40GB be recognized by the system running Windows 11?

Thank you!

The Aspire Vero 14 AV14-52P can't be upgraded with extra ram as all its ram is soldered onto the mainboard and it has no ram slots. This laptop comes in two versions, one has 16 GB of onboard LPDDR4X system memory the other version is an 8GB of onboard LPDDR4X system memory that all work with a Support DIMM voltage: 1.8V/1.1/0.6V and Supports DIMM package: 200Ball FBGA. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

Thank you for your quick response. I must admit I'm quite surprised, given how Acer has been promoting the Vero for being designed with responsible ownership in mind (including previous models being RAM-upgradeable), that the company has abandoned this feature. Seems awfully like Apple in this regard. Quite disappointing.

Oh, wait! Now that I've re-read your answer, it appears you are saying that the model that comes with 8GB -does- have an open DIMM slot. Do I have that correct? And, if so, what is the maximum DIMM size I may install in it (and have it recognized correctly)? Thanks.

NO, the 8GB laptop has only soldered ram also like the 16GB version and you cant upgrade the ram. Yes, fully agree as I've got a new Swift SFX14-51G and that has an i7-1260P/RTX3050/16GB LPDDR5 soldered on ram with no expansion slots which is also frustrating if you need this laptop with a higher spec, as my laptop has a Gen4x4 M.2 boot slot and came with a Gen3x4 M.2 drive, from Acer and I had to buy and clone a Gen4 M.2 to get the laptops full sequential read/write speeds, as Acer are either trying to save money or I can't understand their logic as it doesn't make any sense. If you need a laptop with more than 8GB or 16GB ram get a laptop that can be upgraded to 32GB or even 64GB which Acer make. Good luck.

Thank you, StevenGen. Yes, I'll look for a unit with RAM slots so I may upgrade it down the road as my needs may change (or as Windows gets more bloated). I think the earlier Vero models have a RAM slot; the ones with the 1255u CPU, IIRC.

Again, thanks very much for your assistance.
