Fan of Spin 3 (SP313-51N-501E) is making loud noises and not working continuously

My Spin 3 fan has recently stopped working normally: It makes very unusual, loud noises frequently, seemingly starting up again and again but not running smoothly or quietly at all. CPU temperature is very high since the fan seems to not work.
I've cleaned it and extracted some dust from it and yet it still does the same thing: frequently starting up noisily only to stop right away.

Could it be that the lubricant (grease or oil?) from the fan's ball bearing or axle has evaporated? How cold I check for that? Anyone else being able to fix a situation like this?

It does sound like the bearing are going out on the fan. You can sometimes add a little lubricant, but that's really just a stop gap measure. Best is to just replace the fan:

You can likely find them fairly easily on the secondary market using that part number. Shouldn't be much more than $15-20.

Look for the model of your laptop to find instructions how to open and clean it - Dust is the main culprit often. Or obtain some pressurized air and just take it outside and blast all the dust from every orifice you can see. If you can buy a two pack or more (often cheaper in higher quantities) so that you can alternate between the cans - as the cans can get cold and lose their efficiency if you blow too much. Keep the
bursts short up to 3–4 per can and alternate - with breaks if the cans get cold - if you keep using them they’ll start blowing liquid instead of air.

A google search from my location has several different parts suppliers in the $20 range. I'm guessing since you are looking at prices in £ you are in the UK? You might try some of the US or Canadian sources to see if they will ship.
