I have an Acer Extensa 215-54 that I bought new in June 2023.

The screen is persistently flashing.

It has been returned to the factory two times for repairs and it still has the problem.

Can anyone tell me how I can get this fixed?

How does the issue present itself? Does moving the screen open and closed make any difference? Does the flashing only occur with certain apps or at any time? Does it matter if the laptop is cold or hot?

    Hi Billsey

See the video for how the issue presents.

The flashing happens at any time.

Moving the screen doesn´t make any difference.

It's a new laptop, it doesn´t really get hot.

    Cheers

OK, that looks like there is something like adaptive brightness acting up. Which OS are you running? What version of the Intel video drivers is installed?

OK, which version of the Intel display adapter drivers are you running? Acer is at 30.0.101.1404 on their support page and Intel is at 31.0.101.5085 via their driver and support assistant.

Just to verify if it's the drivers or not, try using DDU to uninstall the driver and go back to Acer's version. You can always upgrade back to what you have now if that doesn't make any difference.
