hi, I just got this gaming laptop today in the mail and it arrived like this… based on the photos would you think it would be a simple screen replacement or something else? Thank you

It was obviously dropped during the shipping. send it back to the retailer and demand a new laptop, the unit was improperly packed, I recently received a large Acer laptop from the USA, shipped by DHL Express to a remote place in The Philippines (took 3 weeks) the heavy carton shipping container was huge 4x the size/weight of the laptop box filled with foam supports, strong carton partitions and bubble wrapping, arrived without a scratch, screen is perfect.

i understand that. I’m just looking to see if it’s something that’s repairable before I go through the whole charade of sending it back and filing claims. That’s why I was asking if it’s something repairable.

No, this cannot be repaired by yourself as it may also have some internal damage from the shock, a heavy corner impact like that picture shows is often fatal even if you can still boot. I recommend sending it back and claim a new unit even if this involves some paperwork and effort. If it was a gift, bought a used/damaged unit without original prove of purchase or no Acer registration you can ask a trusted PC repair shop to check out the LCD cable or replace the screen, a new screen will cost around $150 including labor.
