Hi,
I have an old Acer Aspire E1-510 that I want to give to my Grandson for his schoolwork.
The reason it’s not used is it’s painfully slow but friends more knowledgable than I say that replacing the Hard Drive will significantly improve the performance.
I am thinking I will replace the original 500G HDD with a SSD drive.
My questions to the learned forum are as follows:
1 - Good idea?
2 - Considering the Model and current Spec could members recommend a drive that is compatible ?
3 - Does anyone know of a step instruction or video that takes you through the process ?
I have some IT knowledge as I used to repair desktops but that was 20 yrs ago so things have moved on.
Spec of Laptop
Model: Aspire E1-510
Processor : Intel Celeron N2820 2.39 GHz 1Mb L2 cache
HDD : 500 GB
Memory : 4 GB DDR3 L Memory
OS : Windows 10
All suggestions gratefully received
