I followed a link to request an SSD install kit from Acer. I'm aware my laptop is out of warranty, and I did have to enter my product serial number. I never received a confirmation email, and I'm wondering if I will receive the kit or if the request will be denied?

I've ordered a mount kit from ebay but when I received it, it didn't actually fit my laptop. I'd just buy one if I was able to find the right piece! Does anyone have any suggestions? Is there any way to contact Acer to ask if they reviewed my request?

Thanks! -Nyx

Do you want to install a 2.5" SSD? As opposed to an m.2 SSD card?

If so, all you need is the cable. Google part no. "50.GM1N2.005" or "DC02C00F400" for vendors who ship to your location. Less than $20usd.

The drive itself can be adequately protected and immobilized inside the case using simple foam pieces instead of a metal brackets & screws. Most newer laptops that still use 2.5" HDDs & SSDs now use foam protection. Frame kits are probably no longer available for these laptops.
