I have a golf simulator with this new gaming laptop and I have contacted nvidia about the resolution issue. They diagnosed it that acer has some sort of programming on computer. I can't see to get in touch with them. The graphics card says computer doesn't support custom resolution but the I have the highest graphics card.

There are standard resolutions, and it probably only supports standard resolutions. What resolution are you trying to set it too?

Here are some uncommon yet supported computer monitor resolutions:
WXGA+ (1440 x 900): This resolution is commonly used in 17-inch widescreen laptops.
WSXGA+ (1680 x 1050): This resolution is often used in 20-inch and 22-inch widescreen monitors.
WUXGA (1920 x 1200): This resolution is commonly used in 23-inch to 27-inch monitors.
QWXGA (2048 x 1152): This is an uncommon resolution used in some high-end monitors.
WQHD (2560 x 1440): Also known as 1440p, this resolution is used in high-end 27-inch monitors.
    WQXGA (2560 x 1600): This resolution is used in high-end 30-inch monitors.
QHD+ (3200 x 1800): This resolution is used in some high-end laptop displays.
4K UHD (3840 x 2160): Also known as 2160p or 4K, this resolution is used in high-end monitors and TV's.
    5K (5120 x 2880): This resolution is used in some high-end monitors.
8K UHD (7680 x 4320): Also known as 4320p or 8K, this resolution is used in some high-end monitors and TV's.
Please note: The actual performance may depend on your specific hardware and cable quality.

You must note as well that the cable version should be considered. HDMI 2.0 or 2.1 Display Port 1.2 or 1.4 Thunderbolt 3 or 4 etc. You cannot set the display resolution higher than the max supported by the Monitor or the cable. There is also a Refresh rate support level for Displays and Cables, your Cable and monitor and resolution must align within the parameters of the weakest hardware link.
