I own the amd ryzen 5500U and gtx 1650.Idk what the issue is but this is really frustrating. I've tried updating the drivers using DDU, TRIED EVERY POSSIBLE THING OUT THERE. Changed the thermal paste as well, cleaned the laptop but to no avail!

I installed msi afterburner to check on th stats I observed that the clock frequency of the gpu was hitting upwards of 1700mhz which is over limit given the boost freq is 1515mhz I tried undervolting and it did solve the problem for sometime but same is happening now! Is the chip faulty? If yes what should I do? Can we replace the chip or replace the whole motherboard?

Have you tried rolling back the driver to an older one used before the issue occurred?

Try Turning off GPU Boost in the Nvidia Settings.

It’s possible that the GPU is not faulty, but it’s experiencing issues due to the clock frequency exceeding the boost frequency. This can happen due to a feature called GPU Boost, which is built into the NVIDIA drivers. GPU Boost increases the effective clock speed of the graphics card even beyond the advertised boost frequency, provided that certain conditions are favorable.
If your Acer Aspire 7 laptop keeps crashing while playing games, it could be due to various reasons such as outdated drivers, background programs, overheating, memory issues, or system file errors. Here are some steps you can try:
Update Graphics Drivers: Make sure your graphics drivers are up-to-date.
Disable Background Programs: Close unnecessary programs running in the background.
Prevent Overheating: Ensure your laptop is well-ventilated and not overheating.
Run a Memory Check: Use Windows Memory Diagnostic tool to check for memory problems.
Run System File Checker: Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files.
Undervolt the GPU: You can try undervolting the GPU again. This process reduces the voltage supplied to the GPU, which can help lower its power consumption and temperature.
Monitor GPU Temperature: Use a tool like MSI Afterburner to monitor the GPU temperature.

    Windows Display Settings:
Right-click on your desktop and select Display settings.
Scroll down to the Graphics section under Related settings.
Click on Change default graphics settings.
Here, you can check if the Optimizations for windowed games option is turned on. If it is, you might want to disable it to prevent any FPS limitations.
    Registry Modification:
Press Win + R to open the Run dialog.
Type regedit and hit Enter to open the Registry Editor.
    Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\System\GameConfigStore.
Double-click on the DWORD named GameDRV_Enabled and set its value to 0.
Similarly, modify the value of GameDRV_FSEBehaviourMode to 0 as well.
    Update Graphics Drivers:
Ensure you have the latest graphics driver installed for your GPU. You can do this by right-clicking on Start, going to Device Manager, expanding Display adapters, and updating the driver.
Keeping your drivers up-to-date can help resolve FPS-related issues.
Remember to restart your system after making any changes. These steps should help you achieve a consistent FPS of 60 in your games

I know this is alot but I hope it helps someone.
To maximize stability and performance of your GTX 1650 50W Mobile, consider the following steps:
    Add RAM for Dual Channel:
If your laptop has only 8GB of RAM, consider upgrading to 16GB (2x8GB) for dual-channel memory. Dual-channel RAM can significantly improve performance, especially in gaming scenarios. https://a.co/d/iWeVJCN
    Undervolt Your CPU:
Use tools like ThrottleStop to undervolt your CPU. Undervolting can reduce heat and improve overall system stability. Look for a reliable guide to set optimal voltage profiles.
    Check Thermals:
Download and run HWInfo64 to monitor your laptop’s thermals. Ensure it’s not overheating during gaming sessions. Proper cooling is essential for consistent performance.
    Update Drivers:
Keep your graphics drivers up-to-date. Visit the manufacturer’s website (NVIDIA) and download the latest drivers for your GTX 1650.
    Disable Bloatware:
Uninstall unnecessary software and bloatware. Fewer background processes mean better performance during gaming.
    Optimize Graphics Settings:
Adjust in-game graphics settings. Lowering some settings can significantly improve FPS without sacrificing visual quality.
    Use an Elevated Surface:
When gaming, place your laptop on an elevated surface to improve airflow and prevent overheating.
