Hello, I recently bought this laptop

Model: Nitro AN515-46
AMD Ryzen 5 6600H with Radeon Graphics            3.30 GHz
Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050
RAM 8GB

and I want to upgrade RAM and Storage, but I saw some outputs here in the forum that made me confused about what to get.

RAM
I saw specf. that allows up to 32GB per slot in a total of 64GB but others said up to 32GB in total. I guess is because the "sub model" but mine only said AN515-46, so not sure

Can you please help with:

  1. Maximum RAM capacity per slot
  2. The memory combination per slot, and it can be one slot 8GB and other 16Gb? Or it has to be a kit
  3. Which models or brands types you recommend
  4. does support DDR5 4800MHz?
  5. Which is the CL for my model

I have these two options in case DDR5 is okay, the difference btw them is the CL, Option 1 is CL38 and Option 2 is CL40 and have 32GB SSD (No kit)

Option1

PLUG AND PLAY
CL38
16GB KIT = 32GB

Option2:

SSD no kit and CL40

STORAGE

Can you please help with:

  1. Maximum storage per slot
  2. Can a slot have different capacity?
  3. Is a USB board cable that I have to buy? Can you recommend one?
  4. I saw Storage 1 is Gen4x4 and Storage2 is Gen3x2, how will I know where to place each one, is it label it inside the laptop?
  5. Can u please recommend match models

Thank you so much in advance
I appreciate your time.

32 gigs of ram should be plenty unless your doing really hard core video encoding, and i would would recommend 5600 even at cl40 it will be faster than 4800. either way from my understanding of the ram acer installed any after market ram is going to have better transfer speeds. as far as significantly improving, likely not noticeable with out testing to see.

as far as storage is concerned it seems these have a total 2TB maximum SSD/HDD configuration.

so you could just replace the first slot with a 2TB nvme m.2 or put 2 1TB nvme m.2, as far as generation of you should be able to use gen 4 in both slots just the second will be limited by the board slot.
