Hello, I have an Acer Nitro AN515-57 NH.QEWEP.004 and when I set the screen to Nvidia graphics, the max refresh rate is 60Hz and I cannot set it to 144Hz, only when there is Intel graphics. Why does it look like this?

    What is the game or software that this happens with, be more specific. I'm using a Nitro AN515-56 which basically is the same laptop as the AN515-57 and I've upgraded the screen to a 165Hx refresher rate 2560x1440 resolution that this laptop has an RTX3050 gpu and it runs at that refresher rate 100% on games and high-end software whenever I set all its software and games to specifically run on the RTX-3050 gpu in the NVidia control panel, you must have some setting problems and/or you haven't updated your laptops drivers.

    Make sure that you have the latest NVidia Win-11 drivers and if this is a game that it happens with, make sure that you have GeForce Experience installed and run the game through GeForce Experience software, and also make sure that you have installed the last bios update version 1.20 for your AN515-57 laptop and all the Win-11 23H2 updates and Intel updates, as if you do all that properly, then you should have no problems, as a dedicated gpu like on the AN515-57 just doesn't work on one refresher rate and not the other higher 144Hz rate, this laptop has a screen from manufacturer/model number: BOE NE156QHM-NY3 V8.0 that is a 165Hz refresher rates at 2560x1440 resolution that comes oem from Acer. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

    There is no MUX switch on this model so you cannot disable the Intel GPU.

    I set the "preferred graphics processor" to RTX in the Nvidia panel

    @Johnny132

    If you set the preferred graphics processor to RTX, does it go down to 60Hz immediately?

    Even though the RTX processor is set as default, the frequency is still 144Hz because the screen still uses Intel graphics

    The Nvidia card has to passthrough the Intel Graphics card for the laptop's display. There is no way to make the Nvidia card connect directly to the display without using an external monitor.
