I recently bought the Acer Predator Orion 3000, with the rtx 3050 and the i5-3400F.

I had the predator with the 1660 super and had the same problem with the CPU overheating due to the stock fan not being formidable.

My question is either what motherboard does the PO3-650 contain or what cpu cooler should I get for the i5-3400 and that is compatible with the motherboard.

Appreciate it!

We suggest the same cooler for all PO3 models, the Noctua NH-U9S. You will also want a set of four M3-10mm screws so you don't have to remove the original back plate.

Last time I checked - it was four M3x12mm screws for installing the NH-U9S on the original back plate? Unless it has changed for the PO3-650? I just bought a PO3-650 DG.E3FEQ.00U with i7 13700f & RTX 4060 Ti 8GB GDDR6 & 16GB DDR5 4400MHz RAM & 2 TB PCIe NVMe SSD Gen 4. I'm getting 85 degrees CPU temperature while gaming Warzone 1080p mid/normal graphical settings whilst in gaming mode in the predator sense app (100% fan speed on all fans that is) and I'm getting around 38-40 degrees when idle with fans on automatic. Nothing strange or surprising really as the i7 13700f has a TDP of PL1 65W & Maximum Turbo Power of PL2 219W. And I'm guessing the original cooler has a TDP of 65W? So I'm thinking about an CPU cooler swap - going for the NH-U9S as it should contain mounting kit for LGA 1700 sockets. Although I don't know how the warranty will be affected by this swap …

I believe either 10mm or 12mm will work. The 12mm are harder to find at many local hardware stores.
