So today i ordered an Acer Aspire 3 A315-44P (with Windows 11) and went to pick it up. When i got home i started to set it up, and i wanted to install steam and java but the installers wouldnt open, i tried to Hard reset the OS, but it just wouldn't work no matter what i tried.

I called up my IT Specialist brother and he said to just downgrade to Windows 10 because he tried to figure it out and he just couldn't.

But i have a few questions for the Acer Community. Will the drivers meant for Windows 11 be compatible with Windows 10?

Will there be any issues afterwards?

Let me know, Thanks.

    (UPDATE)

I downgraded to Windows 10, seems to be working as normal as when i bought it, except the boot time is slow and the AMD Chipset driver wont install.

But other than that it works fine.

If you know how to resolve any of those issues im having then let me know.

Im gonna try to fix the boot problem my self by changing around some settings and options and such.

This is a brand new Windows11 machine with the latest Windows11 drivers and a week old Windows11 BIOS. You cannot downgrade this laptop to Windows10 as you will get update and driver issues, you now probably have a mismatch of W10 and W11 drivers, your IT brother gave you the wrong advice.

Depending on what version W11 (with version S you have to turn off S mode first) you right click on the downloaded file and in properties you click on Unblock, right click on the program again and select "Run as Administrator". W11 has far more security features than W10. https://www.guidingtech.com/top-ways-to-fix-unable-to-install-programs-or-software-on-windows-11/

If you Clean installed W10 you lost the W11 OEM folders and OS and Acer's recovery volume. You either Clean install W11 and manually download the drivers not installed by W11 or bring the laptop back to Acer Services in your country to reset the system to factory defaults, for free or a small service fee.

I'm not sure if i lost those folders your talking about, i installed windows 10 from the Media creation tool by just (upgrading my machine) without keeping any files because it wouldn't let me keep any files in the first place. And whatever OEM Software was on it doesnt really matter to me anyway. And we dont have Acer Services here in my country (Latvia), I bought from a retailer called LMT (Latvian Mobile Telephone) for a monthly payment for 3 years.
