I bought my Acer Aspire 7 i5 12th Gen in 2022, on the first week of October. Today, 18-12-23, I have noticed for the fourth time the battery drained from 50-0% in seconds. I checked the battery health using HWiNFO and it is showing 57%. This is not normal, and I am greatly disappointed with Acer product.

If you mean wear: battery capacity when 100% charged is 50% of the design capacity, yes that should not happen till after 2-3 years. If you mean voltage drained to 50% from 100% in an hour or less that can happen also with a brand-new battery when you play large games online with a lot of peripherals connected to all your ports but without the power adapter plugged in. Wear is caused by a dead cell(s) while the other result is caused by improper handling, always have the power adapter plugged in and always charge the battery to 100% and don't use the battery limiting to 80% option in Acer Care Center. Change "Best performance" Power Plan to "Balanced" and disable Hibernate and Fast Startup in "Change what closing the lid does" and "Change settings that are currently unavailable" Your laptop may not be completely shut down during the night and the battery is discharging. Other things to check is "USB Selective Suspend" in Advanced Power Plan settings, disable that option and in Device manager clear the power saving boxes in Power Management, Properties of USB and PCIe devices like Wi-Fi adapter, BT, etc.

Use Windows Battery Report instead of HWINFO for battery issues.

Hey Puraw, thank you for providing me your attention, I appreciate it.

I have checked the battery using the Window's Report and for over months the battery capacity was stable close to the design capacity which was 53,015 mWh then one day it suddenly dropped to
22,407 mWh, and within a year. After few weeks, the laptop stops turning on unless I plug it in, but then it stays on even after when I unplug it.

FYI, when I played a video game, normally for 2 hours max a day, I always plug in the charger.

I went for technical support, they were careless and irresponsible at providing sufficient information. Just told me to replace the battery right away.
