Aspire 3 A315-58G I changed the SSD and it got worse, the fps dropped and the games become lag.

I replaced the SSD on the Aspire 3 A315-58G laptop with a Kingston KC3000 PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2. FPS dropped from 40 to 15. The games began to sag. What I did wrong? Is this ssd not suitable? Which one should I get for 1 TB?

Acer recommends these NVMe Gen 3 SSDs for Aspire 3 A315-58G:

Gen 4 SSD should work on Gen3x4 ports but at Gen 3 speeds (50% of a Gen 4x4 port), try a Samsung 970 Plus EVO 1TB SSD.

The KC3000 is the fastest NVMe Gen 4 SSD on the market, even faster than the Samsung 980 Plus (but slower than the Samsung 990). On a PCIe Gen 3x4 slot the KC3000 performs the same as the Samsung 970Plus Gen 3. But what does your Acer MOBO support I don't know, disappointed that a 2022 MOBO with a 11th Gen chipset comes with an older PCIe 3x4 port, keeping in mind that this is considered an entry-level laptop, did you update your BIOS to version 1.35 2023/08/10 yet?

Yes, I updated it. I'm very disappointed with the fps drop. I don’t understand how a $100 SSD could ruin it like that. I don’t want to make a mistake in choosing another SSD so that the situation doesn’t happen again.
