There is no PredatorSense.exe displayed.

Clicking on PredatorSense app does nothing but the quick blue circle by the arrow for a brief moment.

Service is set to Manual.

I am using a replacement motherboard. Fresh install of Windows 11, no file retention. Entirely fresh. I tried to retain the recovery partition, did everything to avoid touching it. Somehow, it was still cleared. Never selected the partition in anything at any time. Any more information needed, please ask.

Shut Windows down normally. Turn it back on and immediately press and hold the ALT key while tapping the F10 key. What happens if anything?

Blue Screen Recovery. Gave me three options.

This suggests the hidden Acer OEM factory recovery Win11 version partition may still be intact despite whatever you used to conclude it was clear. Control Panel's Diskmgmt.msc often reports hidden partitions this way.

However, if you fresh installed Win11 using Microsoft's media creation tool, there is a possibility that the factory recovery partition has now been overwritten and replaced with a generic Win11 recovery version.

I'm guessing the only way to know… is to do another fresh install?

    Yes, I used Microsoft's MCT.

JackE, any hope of getting Predator Sense back?

Disk 0 is the OG SSD. This is where I see that it is 100% free for the recovery partition. Is the one I ensured not to touch through and through.

    It is also labeled "APH7Og".

Yes, that was my next suggestion. Use the ALT+F10 cold boot method. That should re-install the Win10 OEM factory version if the generic Win11 hasn't overwritten it.

While this model should run generic Win11, it may not be fully compatible with proprietary OEM apps like PredatorSense that interface with the BIOS firmware from inside the operating system.

Accordingly, I would avoid using Win11 till the Acer downloads for this model are actually updated for Win11. We Acer users have no way of knowing if/when the Win11 updates will be released. So like the rest of us, you have to keep checking the downloads pages.

I have just confirmed the recovery partition is dead. After making my recovery selection the PC just turns right off instantly.

My next question is will installing Windows 10 restore my ability to use PredatorSense? Any advice to getting PS back would be just …my Christmas.

Since the OEM Win10 factory recovery partition appears to be inaccessible, you can try the generic Win10 version using the Micro soft USB installation media creation tool. The generic version sometimes —- but not always —- will restore at least partial functionality of the Acer proprietary Win10 apps like PredatorSense, QuickAccess, CareCenter & AcerRecoveryManagement for which Win11 updates aren't yet available.

If the generic Win10 doesn't work —- and if you didn't make OEM recovery stick before installing Win11 —- you can request an OEM recovery stick based on your machine's model or serial number id (SNID) by calling 1-800-910-2237 from the US or CA as suggestd in this link. There may be a nominal fee charged for the stick.

PS: If you haven't yet tried to install the Win10 PredatorSense app from the Acer downloads in Win11's Win10 compatibility mode, you might want to try that first before installing the generic Win10.

Windows 8 was the only compatibility mode available (of course the older versions were). I've decided to run with Windows 10 and see what happens, but have hit a snag with transferring 300GB worth of data to an external. I plan to install Windows 11 to my old SSD and Windows 10 to the new one. On the off chance that my old SSD has gone bad, I'd at least like to have Windows on it and I figured why not Windows 11. I plan to make Windows 10 my primary. I don't know what I'm thinking. I feel stupid not putting Windows 11 on the new SSD, but logic tells me the Windows 11 on my old one is set as just a backup plan if Windows 10 still fails to use Predator Sense… again, it probably sounds really stupid.

300 GB!!??? That's a lot of data. Gonna take some time to move it to an external. You should be fine. Good luck. 🙂

It completed at about 12:10am this morning. However, after all of it completed, Predator Sense still does not function. My Keyboard continues to do the rainbow thing that it does at boot. …I have gotten to where I just want Predator Sense to stop the rainbow lighting. Turning off the keyboard backlight just makes it more difficult to type. This has gotten annoying.

If generic Win10 is now installed, then install the chipset & i/o driver updates from Acer downloads. Also the CareCenter and QuickAccess apps just in case PredatorSense depends on parts of their proprietary code.

Would you be able to show me the chipset in a device manager screenshot? I've either stumbled across the fact that my chipset has not been discovered by my PC and it may actually be the culprit behind all of my problems… or I'm just that much of a rookie.

I installed Cipset INF Utility and now Intel® 300 Chipset Family LPC Controller (HM370) - A30D

It was not displaying and it turns out Windows 10 doesn't detect the chipset… although based on the link I am following, I'm seeing several chipsets listed in their device manager and only one in mine… and it won't take the driver update I'm trying to do from the acer site. I have all the drivers downloaded to a folder, separated by driver, and have been doing subfolder installations. Any suggestions?

SCRATCH that… I restarted. And now it's no longer listed. I have nothing listed as chipset in my device manager.

Post a screenshot of Device Manager as it first opens. Don't manually expand any folders.

My PC has been freezing intermittently and expectedly for the last two days.. Requires me to do a hard boot every time. I'm looking to give up at this point.
