I have a Predator PH315-54 that does not use the dedicated GPU, but rather uses the integrated CPU graphics when running any games. The GPU shows up under Display Adapters when looking at Device Manager, but does not appear under GPU when looking at Task Manager, instead, Task Manager will only show the performance of the integrated GPU. Sometimes when booting up the PC for the first time, I will receive error code 43 when observing the Device Manager, but after disabling and enabling the device it will show that it is operating normally.

Things I have tried so far:

  • Updating GPU drivers
  • Updating Windows
  • Updating BIOS firmware
  • Updating BIOS firmware for the GPU
  • Rolling back the GPU drivers using DDU and Updating to an earlier released driver
  • Disabling iGPU
  • Power cycling, and restarting PC.
  • Forcing apps to use the GPU for graphics (The 3060 doesn't even appear in the drop-down)
  • Disabling energy savings settings.
  • Disabling fast boot options

Laptop specs:

  • Predator PH315-54
  • 16GB RAM
  • OS: Windows 11 Home Version 10.0.22621
  • Processor: Intel 11th Gen i7-11800H
  • GPU: RTX 3060 6GB, Driver version 31.0.153742

I just bought this PC from someone that had it for the last few months, he said he was able to play a few games on it and it worked fine, it looked like he just did a factory recently when I got it from him but after setting up the PC, I ran a game as soon as it was downloaded, and realized this issue. since then I've been working on this issue for 15-16 hours, so if someone could please help me figure this out that would be much appreciated.

    Is battery saver turned on?

"I will receive error code 43 when observing the Device Manager" - someone sold you a bad device - error code 43 generally means hardware failure.

    Hey lawson170,
Try this way, I just successful restore my vga with issue code 43.
    1. Install or run "TechPowerUp GPU-Z" app.

    2. Make sure it recognize NVIDA vga card.

    3. Check Bios version, if it Unknown, you should flash bios rom for GPU.

    4. Search on www.techpowerup.com page to find exactly bios GPU, or you can search google with this keypharse "Acer RTX 3060 Mobile 6 GB BIOS" better select version with lower Board power limit.

    5. Download bios and search how to flash bios GPU rom, it will need nvflash app to flash bios.

    6. After flashing bios GPU, you should re-check in TechPowerUp GPU-Z to verify Bios version.

I just successfully resolved issue this way. Hope you too.
