windows shows x mark on the battery but still unit runs without the power cord an515-45

hi,

recently i’m having problem with my Acer Nitro 5 AN515-45 with the battery. Windows shows a cross mark and show 0% battery level but the laptop still runs without the power cord attached which means it still has juice but sometimes the laptop thinks that it spent have battery and won’t start after shutting down i really need your help guys. I have some photos attach below.

Try to do a power reset by turning the laptop off, unplugging the charger, and holding the power button for 15 seconds.

Remove both battery drivers in the device manager.

Calibrate the battery by using the laptop until it shuts itself down. Then fully charge the laptop again.

If those steps don't work, the battery controller might be faulty.

You can contact the retailer or Acer if the laptop has a warranty.

Or take the laptop back cover off and reconnect or replace the battery.

I've already done all the steps above before by referring Google sometimes it fixes the issue for few days and then i get back the problem or it also will fix itself in shortwhile. It such a pain if I shutdown my laptop and it won't turn on cuz the computer is thinking that it has no battery but in reality, it has.

Can you check battery wear with hwinfo64?
