VHave you tried sending the computer in for repair? Trying to fix it yourself could make the problem worse.

You don't need to buy a new mainboard if you spilled liquid onto the mainboard even while the laptop was on, you should have first turned the power off by automatically and quickly pressing the power key until the laptop turn off, then open the back case and disconnect the main battery, that is the first step that should be taken when a liquid is spilled into the laptop.

Then the mainboard should be taken out and if a sweet liquid is spilled you ONLY use pure water to clean the mainboard, if you spill other liquids then use a lighter petroleum fluid as that cleans those liquids off completely and also reconstitutes the material that the chips are mad of, in case they are damaged. After thoroughly cleaning the mainboard and its affected chips you need to dry the liquid affected area completely with either a hair dryer or a soldering heat gun until everything is completely dry, reinstall the mainboard and reboot the laptop, if the laptop doesn't boot then you have shorted chips that a technician can diagnose and in 90% of instances can change/fix to make your laptop work 100%, if and unfortunately the liquid has spilled over the gpu and its ram, cpu or the chipset chip and shorted them out, then you need to buy a new mainboard.

All in all its worth taking you Nitro AN517-55 to a technician so that the laptop can be diagnosed and analyzed if it can be repaired, as a repair is 1/10th of what a new mainboard can cost which for a Nitro 5 AN517-55 - Ci512450H with the RTX3050 4GB GPU Acer part #: mNB.QG111.003 is at ZANDPARTS for a cost of 2 315.33 EUR (2 315.33 EUR excl. VAT, btw VAT is 25%) plus shipping, which the total of all this is way over what a new AN517-55 laptop is worth.

Here are all the AN517-55 mainboards and their part numbers that Acer fits to the Nitro AN517-55 lap[tops, buying a new and better or top spec mainboard is only worth doing (if you can get these parts?) if you want to upgrade your existing mainboard specs to the Nitro AN517-55 top spec board which is the: Intel i7-12700H - RTX4060 (GN21-X4) 8GB LG05P_N16B3L - Acer part #: NB.QLF11.002 board then you can do that easily now, good luck and hope this helps you out:

Thank you so much for the info Steven. I attached a pic of the area that was damaged. The computer wasn't on when the spill happened, but it was plugged in. It sat for a while before I opened it up to turn it on and saw there was something dried up on the screen. Upon closer inspection, I could see something had dried down the back. I have no idea what it was I don't remember spilling anything but it was totally dry when I got to trying to turn it on and I saw there weren't any lights on showing if it was charged or getting power from the charger.

Anyways look at the pic it looks like the area is corroded or overheated maybe. There are some really small delicate parts in that area. I can fix it myself if I can get the part. You are right though the main board prices are insanely expensive.

Thanks Commodore, I have been building computers most of my life and have fixed several Laptops. I think I'm just going to put it on Ebay Not Working or for Parts since I can't find a used Mainboard.
