Hi there,
I have this 5 yr old Acer Nitro 5 AN515-51 gaming Laptop which just died without any warning. Took it to techie who said it would cost $250 to diagnose & fix but he did say the power port was wobbly which I decided to replace. That did not help. Figured the power adapter had gone bust and bought a new adapter. That didn't help either.
I have been reading about the way the power function is designed. Apparently unplugging the battery and directly hooking to the power port to the adapter should work but they say it is not recommended. Direct power did not work either.
Do you think it is the battery? It has been 5 years and probably needs replacing. I have placed an order for it as well. If that does not do anything then this laptop is toast most likely. Expensive laptop for sure. No more ACER for sure. Saw my drive corrupted twice and lost a whole bunch. Blue screens too.
Any thoughts?
Vish
