My Aspire 5 A515-57-579J has two slots for removable memory modules, initially it came with 4+4 GB, I installed two modules of 16 GB each, leaving it at 32GB, and it can be increased to 64 GB. The important thing is to use single-chip modules, if you use multi-chip modules it does NOT work. The change is extremely simple, change the modules and the equipment automatically recognizes them. Very important when you are going to make internal changes, disconnect the battery. There are several videos on YouTube about it, it is also simple.

huh? there's no such thing as single-chip modules.

In my Aspire 5A515-57-56UV I'm using a single 32GB stick, leaving the other slot empty (for now) and it works:
    Corsair VENGEANCE® Series 32GB (1 x 32GB) DDR4 SODIMM 3200MHz CL22
    part No.: CMSX32GX4M1A3200C22

This stick is impossible to be a "single chip" of 32GB size.
