I have an Acer Aspire TC-1760-UA92 that i use as cash register to run GoAntiquing software. I am trying to hook up a Zebra DS2278 bar code scanner but i can not get it to stay powered up on my pc. I have been able to get it to stay powered up on a much lesser pc (old as heck, like easy 8-10 years old.) the software creator (goantiquing.net/brave new software) believes its probably a setting in the bios. I dont have enough experince with pc troubles so i dont want to ruin anything. Could this be the issue?

Does it power on at all, or it powers on fine but then goes away after some idle period? There may be a setting for the USB port that allows the system to turn off inactive devices to save power, and you don't want that set.
